Slate, an American company founded in 2022, understands that not every buyer wants a fully loaded and expensive vehicle. That\'s why the brand created the Slate Truck, a basic pickup featuring manual crank windows, no stereo system, and no touchscreen.
The concept is simple: you\'re offered a stripped-down pickup truck, and you can choose to add only the options you want or stick with the vehicle in its most basic form, resulting in a particularly attractive price tag.
An Affordable Vehicle
Although Slate has yet to officially announce the base price of its pickup, rumors have suggested that the American automaker\'s truck would be remarkably affordable. Well, it appears that we may now know exactly how much the electric pickup will cost, as the company reportedly displayed its price on its website by mistake for a brief period.
According to the leaked information, the Slate Truck will start at $24,950 before destination and delivery charges. Buyers would only need to add $5,000 to obtain the SUV conversion kit.
A Solution for Many
I may be old-school, but I absolutely love the concept, and it\'s exactly the kind of vehicle I would seriously consider buying. Hopefully, other manufacturers will take inspiration from Slate and decide to offer simpler vehicles with fewer features at more accessible prices.
